Premise

A victory that did not end the cycle

After ICEY begins after the ending of ICEY (2016). The official description states that after countless cycles ICEY defeated Judas and left the world — yet the cycles remain.

Three bound souls await. Follow the arrows, defeat them, and take their soul crystal masks — this is your mission.

You play as ICEY again, traversing three named areas: the ruins, the Upper Sea and the City of Sunset. The mission is described as repeatedly assigned, which is the load-bearing word — it ties the sequel back to the loop structure the first game was built around.

    FantaBlade Network releases ICEY, published by XD — a 2D side-scrolling action game built around an omnipresent narrator the player can obey or defy.

Systems as lore

Masks, nodes and redacted names

Two collection strands are described. The first is the three mission masks, condensed from soul crystals. The second is optional: corrupted data nodes scattered across levels contain incomplete masks bearing residual stories left by a previous figure — whose name is blacked out in the official text.

The description redacts an outcome, a figure and a mask. Taken together with the corrupted-node framing, that reads as a deliberate design language rather than withheld marketing copy: this is a world where information has been damaged on purpose.
